The Book Fair

The book fair that my husband and I went to on Saturday, May 1st was busy. We had to wait about ten minutes after the special handicap hour to be let in to browse, they lost track of the time of course. People who arrived at the regular time of 10am got to rush in right away so that means everyone else only got fifty minutes instead of an hour. I would have appreciated the extra ten minutes. My husband and I found an old political election game that came inside a box, who knows if all the pieces are there or if it's even entertaining to play; but it was $2.00 so we decided to purchase it. I was able to pick up a gardening book as I plan to have a flower and vegetable garden at the new house. We also found several other books to add to our collection, part of this new collection of books was a book from the movie 'Back To The Future', color pictures with bits and pieces of the story. Because this movie is one of my favorites I thought this was very neat, and for fifty cents not a bad purchase price either.

After going to the book fair we picked up brunch at First Watch off of Olive and Ballas Rd. Enjoyed my veggie wrap, potatoes and fruit while my husband enjoyed a full stack of pancakes.

Then we were off to look at a few furniture stores. We decided to look at Value City Furniture and Weekends Only in north county. Saw a couch set, a table, and a bed frame set that we liked. Overall a good price on everything considering I thought we'd be spending thousands of dollars of the type of table I'd originally wanted to buy for the new house. We also drove out to Kohls and American Furniture and looked around but didn't find anything so we headed home.

Had a nice relaxing evening, enjoyed catching up on one of our favorite tv shows Top Chief, watched a few recorded programs on the dvr and then played a game of Scrabble.

It was a long productive, tiring day and I'm just happy that my knee and foot aren't throbbing like they were earlier once we first arrived home. I have no idea how many hours I was on my feet today.

Sunday if Good Will or the St. Vincent Thrift Shop is open I plan on making a donation trip. It will be an entire full car load of items. Next donation before we move will be left over furniture that did not sell and we don't want to take with us, and a huge lot of clothing.

I realized after checking the calendar that my husband and I have about three weeks until we close on our condo and our new house, being that everything continues to go smoothly and works out for us. It has been a very bumpy and emotional ride so far. I will be very happy once this experience is at it's conclusion. I'm enthusiastic to what the future will bring my husband and I. I just hope that what we have to look forward to will be taking place in our new house in Wentzville.
